St Peters railway station is part of the CityRail network. Located in the Sydney suburb of St Peters it services a residential and industrial area. St Peters lies on the Bankstown, East Hills, and Illawarra lines, although only Bankstown line trains regularly stop there.

[edit] Services

The station has three island platforms, of which only one is in use. Each island platform is designed to serve two tracks. The western island platform was never completed and has no track. The central platform serves the Bankstown line, and trains do not normally stop at the eastern platform, except at times when maintenance is being performed on the other tracks. Some of the original platform buildings were demolished in the early 1990s and replaced with modern shelters. St Peters railway station is located in a cutting. Immediately to the east of the station, the railway passes underneath the Princes Highway. This station does not have easy access for wheelchairs.

[edit] Clearways project

The clearways project envisages that St Peters will have six tracks, with stopping trains serving only the westernmost platform. Because this platform is very narrow, the middle platform may be demolished so that the western platform can be widened.
