St Francis de Sales Regional College
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
St Francis De Sales Regional College is a large regional catholic secondary school in the Riverina town of Leeton in south western New South Wales. It is one of the largest schools in the Riverina drawing students from towns including Griffith, Narrandera, Deniliquin, Coleambally and Hay. There is a major boarding program to accommodate students from around the region. The majority of the college's pupils however are from Leeton, providing young people opportunities for a religious education in a well established private school and offering alternatives to public education. The school is located on Yanco Avenue on the southern approach to Leeton and helps to establish Leeton's role as a significant educational centre. However recent students have found the idea of compulsory religion study a major setback. As a result many students leave before year 12 to pursue study at schools where they can study subjects of their choosing.
