Talk:St. Joseph Higher Secondary School (Dhaka)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Sources please
I can't find any verifiable information on this school, beyond its simple existence (and who created it). The current wording is somewhat promotional, and gives glowing opinions without attribution. This needs to be corrected. I'm hoping somebody with local expertise can address this. If the stuff can't be verified, it will have to be seriously trimmed. --Rob 07:14, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- Are you looking for this (or this mirror? Banglapedia is the national encyclopedia of Bangladesh. However, the verifiability brings a new problem: the current article seems to be cut-pasted from Banglapedia. The school is highly regarded in Bangladesh. Following are some other sites related to the school:
- Alumni site of the class of 89
- Holy cross congregration, that runs this and hundreds of other catholic schools around the world
- listing from Bangladesh christian online
- News paper article in Bangladesh Observer showing the results in the public exams
- These were the links from the first page of google search. Thanks. --Ragib 07:29, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

- Initially, when I saw banglapedia, it looked like a typical wikimirror (without proper credits). Now, I can't tell who copied who. If wikipedia is guilty of the copyvio, we'll have to place the "copyvio" tag on the page. But, this needs further investigation. --Rob 07:57, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

- Rather it is the other way around, Banglapedia, is a written encyclopedia published after a 5 year project by the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh and funded by the Government of Bangladesh. It has both print and online versions. Please check out Official Banglapedia site to see the list of editors, contributors and publishers. Thanks. --Ragib 08:00, 5 January 2006 (UTC)

- And here is a cover story from The Daily Star denoting the making of Banglapedia. --Ragib 08:07, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
You're right, I was mistaken, and I've tagged it as copyvio for deletion. --Rob 08:09, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
- Since the article must be deleted, including all history, I've started a temp page at Saint Joseph High School and College (Dhaka)/Temp. Once the main article is deleted, this will be the new legal article. At the moment, the only thing in it, is the three links your provided. --Rob 08:18, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
