St. Pius X High School (Houston)

St. Pius X High School is a Roman Catholic secondary school located in northwest Houston, Texas, United States.

St. Pius, which serves grades 9 through 12, is administered by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Houston.

The Dominican Sisters of Houston established St. Pius X High School in 1956 [1]. St. Pius opened in September 1956 with 253 students in the 9th and 10th grades. The school added the 11th grade in 1957 and the 12th grade in 1958. In 2006 the Boys Soccer team won their first district championship under head coach Jason Novak. In December 2006 the St. Pius football team won the state championship by defeating Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, their first state championship since 1999. Head football coach and athletic director Robin Kirk was the coach for the '99 and '06 championships.

The state of Texas' board of education accredited St. Pius in 1959 [2].
