St. Paul's School is an independent K-12 college-preparatory school in Brooklandville, Maryland. St. Paul's 149-acre campus is perched on a large hill overlooking the beautiful Green Spring Valley in southern Baltimore County. The school was founded on February 9, 1849 by Reverend William Edward Wyatt in Baltimore City at Old St. Paul's Parish.

Today, St. Paul's is coed through the fourth grade, and all-male from fifth through twelfth grade. However, its sister school, St. Paul's School for Girls, is located on an adjacent campus. In the Upper School, foreign language classes and certain electives are coed.

St. Paul's offers a rigorous college-prep curriculum for students in the Upper School (grades 9-12). Over 99% of each graduating class matriculates in a four-year college, with many enrolling in the country's most prestigous institutions of higher education.

The St. Paul's academic experience is known for its top-notch faculty, small class sizes, collegial student-teacher relationships and strong focus on the liberal arts. The school recently established an IB Diploma Programme to further enrich a curriculum of Advanced Placement and Honors courses.

[edit] Athletic Offerings

St. Paul's puts a strong emphasis on athletics. Each student must participate in a sport all three seasons Freshman and Sophomore year and two of the three seasons Junior and Senior year. The school is well known for its lacrosse team, which has a rich history of competition in the highly-competitive MIAA league against rivals like the Gilman School, Boy's Latin and others.

In the past few years, the St. Paul's hockey team has gone to the championships three times. The golf team has won the 'A' Conference championship five of the past six years and practices at the infamous Baltimore Country Club course. The St. Paul's cross-country team won the 'B' Conference Championships in 2006 finishing with an undefeated season. The Varsity Volleyball team in its second year of competition competed in the 'B' Conference Playoffs losing to Boys Latin School three games to two games.
