St. Mary's Church, Dublin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
St. Mary's Church, Dublin is a former Church of Ireland building that dates from 1627. The architect was Sir William Robinson, and it is notable as the first Dublin church to be built with galleries.
Theobald Wolfe Tone was baptised in the church in 1763 and Sean O'Casey the playwright was baptised there in 1880.
The church, located in Mary Street, closed in 1986 and became a retail outlet. It has now been converted to use as a pub and restaurant, named "John M. Keating Bar".
The adjoining churchyard was converted into a public park, Wolfe Tone Park, where the gravestones can be seen stacked up at the southern end.
