St. Mary's Basilica

St. Mary's Basilica is located in downtown Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The facade and spire are entirely of local granite. Construction began in 1820 and it was finally consecrated on October 19, 1899. It was made a basilica in 1950 by Pope Pius XII.
