St. Luke's School is a small independent, Episcopal Junior Kindergarten to 8th Grade school in Greenwich Village, at 487 Hudson Street. Total enrollment is about 200, with about 20 kids per grade. It is located on the beautiful 1-acre block of The Church of St. Luke in the Fields. The current head of school is Ann Mellow, who announced in March 2006 that she would be leaving the school after the 2006-2007 school year. She will have been the head for 12 years. A search committee of members of the School Board has been formed to begin searching for a new head of school. The current Upper School (grades 5-8) head is Lyn Spyropoulos, and the current Lower School (grades JK-4) head is Jackie Stevenson.
