St. Leonards F.C.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
St. Leonards F.C. was a semi-professional football team who played their last season of football in the Sussex County League. They played home games at the Firs, Hastings, East Sussex and right next door to Hastings United.
St. Leonards started out as a works team in 1971 as STAMCO when the employees of the Sussex Turnery And Moulding Company played friendly matches. STAMCO won the Sussex Senior Cup in 1997 against Peacehaven and the following season they started playing in the Dr. Martens Premier League. This most probably the peak of St. Leonards F.C's history. But St. Leonards soon were back in the Sussex County League, and midway through the 2003-04 went out of business.
