[edit] History
St. Gregory's was founded in 1875 by the Benedictine monks Father Isidore Robot, O.S.B., and Brother Dominic Lambert, O.S.B. The school was known as St. Gregory's College until 2000, when it changed from a junior college to a baccalaureate-conferring University. It is the oldest institution of higher learning in Oklahoma.
Fr. Lawrence Stasyszen, O.S.B. has been the president of the University since May, 2000 (he was also elected Abbot of St. Gregory's Abbey in January, 2006). In his tenure, Fr. Stasyszen has worked to fully implement the principles of the Constitution for Catholic Univerisities, Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
