St. George's Independent Schools
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
St. George's Independent Schools (SGIS) has campuses in Collierville, Germantown, and Memphis, Tennessee. The school was affiliated with the Episcopal Church until 2004. The school is private, and tuition depends on which campus the child attends, and what grade they are in.
The Germantown campus was built in 1959, and is the oldest of the three campuses. It serves grades prekindergarten through fifth grade.
The Memphis campus was the next to be founded, in 2001. It (as of 9 March 2006) serves grades prekindergarten through second grade.
The Collierville campus was founded in 2002, and serves grades six through 12. The Collierville campus has two wings, which divide the school into middle school (grades 6-8), and upper school (grades 9-12). The school is notable because, unlike many in the area, it runs on a trimester schedule, unlike the regular semester schedule. Another notable quality of the school is that every student owns a laptop.
