Stresovice is a neighborhood of green, quiet and village-like streets in the west of Prague. It is included in the Prague 6 district. Some of Střešovice places are known for famous resident, that's why called "local Beverly Hills". They are in a 10 minute walk from the Prague Castle. And next to Dejvice. There is also a large military hospital (Ústřední vojenská nemocnice). Major sights are a functionalist Villa Müller by Adolf Loos (1930) and St Norbert church in style of Romanesque Revival (1890-1891).

Střešovice (also known as Třešovice) appeared between 10th and 11th centuries, and were native asset of Czech county till the year of 1143. That time they were gifted to the Strahovsky Monastery, in spite of temporary foreclosure in finish of husitské and in finish of professional rebellion. Stopping out estates of those monasterial sightfuly pending until Joshuans.

In the year of 1883 Střešovice had given a new occupation, wihc arose on the fly in 1824-26, designated as Minor Streshovice. By the year of 1990 Střešovice featured 2500 habitats. In 1922 the number of dwellers grew to 3879, and 254 houses connected to Prague as a part of the Prague-8 district. In the year of 1949 the unite part of Střešovice was integrated to the Prague 5 district, (with Břevnov and parts of Liboc). Another part was integrated into Prague 6 district (with Dejvice, Sedlec, Veleslavín, Vokovice and parts of Bubeneč, Holešovice, Hradčany and Liboc). In the year of 1960 roughly whole Stresovice became a component of new district, called Prague 6. In the year of 1990 the Stresovice became a part of municipal Prague 6.

Ethymology: To the year of 933, the neighborhood was noticed as "Under union of Villiam Tressowicz". Since 1845 it was remade to Střešovice. As it suggests, out of original name it was in spite of happiest transformation. "Střešovice or Střiešovice" = "lice people of Střešovych or Střiešovich from individual name "Stress"(anxiety) or „Střieša“(edition), home creature named „Střezivoj“ (the watchman) or the "Střezimír“ (the world-wide watchman). However, it may not be so.

The neighborhood is easily accessible from the center of the Prague by tram routes 1,2,18. The closest metro station is Hradcanska, which is just in a few tram stop from Stresovice. The Prague Transportation musem is also in this neighborhood.

The Prague International Airport is easily accessible from the neighborhood. It takes less then an hour to travel there by public transportation. By car - it is less then 20 minutes.
