Stârciu

Stârciu (Hungarian: Bogdanháza) is a village to the southeast of Zalău in Romania. In 1910 there were 1505 inhabitants, all Romanian. In 1992, there were 1149 inhabitants, all Romanian. The first historical accounts of the village was in 1341. Until 1919 the village was part of the Kingdom of Hungary's Szilágy comitatus; it was again in Hungary during World War II (1940 to 1944). Presently, it is administered as a part of Horoatu Crasnei commune in Sălaj County.
