Sridhara

Sridhara is an Indian last name (not to be mistaken by Sridhar or Sridharan). They originate from the port town of Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. They have been known to have possessed a lot of material wealth. Hence, they got the name Sridhara, Sri-Lakshmi (Hindu Goddess of Wealth) and Dhara - to possess; In other words someone who possesses wealth i.e. Vishnu (Preserver), as he is married to Lakshmi. They belong to Vaidiki sub-caste of Telugu Brahmin.
