Sravasti

Srāvastī or Sāvatthī (Chinese: 舍衛), a city of ancient India, was one of the largest cities during Gautama Buddha’s lifetime. The city was located in the fertile Gangetic plains in the present day’s Gonda district of Uttar Pradesh.
Sravasti was the capital of the ancient Indian kingdom (Mahajanapadas) of Kosala, and Gautama Buddha had spent 25 rainy seasons in Sravasti.
