The squash bug (Anasa tristis) of the family Coreidae is a major pest of squash and pumpkins, and is a vector of plant disease to the plants (Yellow Vine Decline). These bugs can emit an unpleasant odor when disturbed. Also known as the Western Conifer Bug, these nusainces like flat boards. Unlike most bugs, these ones are active in daylight.
