Squarecat Comics is the daily online comic strip diary of cartoonist Jennifer Omand, who sometimes goes by Jennifer O. Omand writes daily about an event that happened to her that day, and take place largely in her home area of the seacoast of New Hampshire. Although the strips document real events, Omand's art is highly stylized, and the real-life people who appear in it are given the form of anthropomorphic animals. Omand herself is represented by a square-shaped, gray cat with a stub of a tail. Her boyfriend, Matt Talbot (co-writer and inker of indie comic Johnny Raygun) appears as a simplified bird of an unspecified species.
The webcomic version of Squarecat Comics is free to read. The strips are collected and published in trade paperback by JetPack Press. Volume 1 was released in late 2005, and volume 2 was released in late 2006, having its debut at the Small Press Expo in Baltimore, Maryland. Omand's work was also featured in the 2004 24 hour Comic Day highlites book, with the Squarecat protagonist heading off on a fictionalized adventure.
