I don't have time to check it out now, but I suspect this page may be under copyright, because it reads like it was copied from some sales material. --209.108.217.226 01:27, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Spring framework background

I think the Spring framework article needs some work. The creators of Spring (Rod Johnson/Juergen Hoeller/others) could be discussed as they have made significant contributions to and are highly recognized within the Java enterprise community, largely through merit.

Also, the topics addresses by and concequences of the rise of the Spring framework are very broad. For example, for many Java development projects Spring can replace an EJB container completely. Discussing some of these issues could offer a better understanding of the Spring framework.

[edit] Biased

This article sounds like it's from a promotional flyer ... I came here to learn about Spring, not get a sales pitch.

[edit] Needs complete rewrite

This appears to be written as a promotional sales pitch with the target audience being managers. It would be much more approative for an article about a framework to be written with the target audience being lead developers. Compare and contrast with alternative frameworks. Examples of these containers are HiveMind, PicoContainer and Excalibur.

[edit] Starting complete rewrite

Since most readers are unsatisfied with the current article and there are so many things to talk about I'll start an effort to completely rewrite the article. The only way to do this is to completely remove the current content and start over. I understand readers may experience this a disruptive but hopefully I'll end up with a good introduction that can replace the current article and that can later be extended. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Devijvers (talk • contribs) .

[edit] spring framework (Java)

there seems to be a duplicate article with far more information at spring framework (Java)

Yes, I've started a rewrite of the Spring Framework article. Since there's also a Spring.NET framework I've titled it Spring Framework (Java). However, this article still needs work. Anyone who wants to participate please feel free to do so. Proof-reading and criticism are very welcome.
