List of CityTrain stations |
The Springfield railway line is a $300m proposed single track QR CityTrain railway line due for construction and completion between 2006 and 2011. It will branch from the existing Ipswich Line at Darra Station and extend to the Springfield area. The Ipswich Line will be upgraded with a third track between Corinda and Darra to enable higher capacity for the line to accommodate Springfield commuter trains and freight services.
The planned alignment after Darra (heading outbound from the Brisbane CBD) almost mirrors the Centenary Freeway. An upgrade of the motorway will accompany construction of the railway line. Stations are yet to be finalised, but it is believed there will be at least four new stations on the line.
