The Springfield Stallions are an indoor football team that plays their home games at the Prairie Capital Convention Center.

They began play as a member of the 8-Man Football League (8FL), a league that plays eight-man football with teams in Illinois. The team was very successful, posting a 9-1 record in the 2006 season. However, despite winning the semifinal round against the Capital City Outlaws, they lost the 8FL championship game to the Macomb Mayhem.

The Stallions were purchased by two Indiana businessmen, Justin Gettys of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Chris Underwood of Huntington, Indiana. They purchased the team from Herb Fullerton. Fullerton will remain with the Stallions as Head Coach. Jerry Lankin will serve as the teams General Manager. Gettys will serve as President and Underwood will serve as Vice President of the Stallions Football Club.

On October 17, the team announced they had moved to the Continental Indoor Football League. [1]
