Springdale, Utah

Springdale is a village in Washington County, Utah, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 457. It is located just outside the boundaries of Zion National Park, and is oriented around the resulting tourist industry. It was originally settled as a Mormon farming community.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 457 people, 192 households, and 120 families residing in the village. The population density was 38.1/km² (98.8/mi²). There were 228 housing units at an average density of 19.0/km² (49.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town was 91.90% White, 1.75% Native American, 0.66% Asian, 4.81% from other races, and 0.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.38% of the population.
There were 192 households out of which 17.7% had children under the living with them, 52.6% were married couples living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.5% were non-families. 24.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.88.
In the village the population was spread out with 19.7% under the , 6.6% from 18 to 24, 26.0% from 25 to 44, 32.6% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 44 years. For every 100 females there were 96.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.3 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $41,607, and the median income for a family was $51,500. Males had a median income of $34,063 versus $26,667 for females. The per capita income for the village was $25,593. About 8.3% of families and 9.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 12.0% of those under age 18 and 12.3% of those age 65 or over.
