[edit] Casualties

You updated the casualties to 33 dead, 90 something wounded. Do you have a source for this? Rangeley 17:42, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

We arent going for estimates, we are just going for the amount wounded that we know from sources. Also, civilians do not count as casualties for the militant or Israeli side, they go into a seperate section. Rangeley 17:53, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Please do not accuse me of removing data as if that is the sum of my actions on this page. My own edits to the casualties section have all been removed, even when citing only well known Western sources, and replaced with only Israeli newspaper sources. My last two edits in that section replaced the very basic info there with info from the PCHR that is more detailed and lists names, times, places and circumstances of deaths. I have offered to try and reconcile the two versions on the talk page under the section "Casualties and POV". Please join me there to discuss if you are truly interested in solving the problem, rather than simply making decontextualised accusations. Thank you. Tiamut 18:55, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Okay. Now you just changed a perfectly legitimate source from the Australian Herald News to one from the Jerusalem Post. Are you going to try and tell me that it JP is less POV? Can you explain? Tiamut 20:38, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

If both are "basically the same", then you should have just added your reference and a sentence with the IDF claim. It's a little hypocritical for you to come to my talk page and accuse me of deleting your sources, and then delete a new entry I made with a perfectly respectable and netural source so as to replace it with your own Israeli source. I have readded my original source alongside yours. Please respect the change. Thanks. Tiamut 21:03, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

  • As I feared (I've seen it before), once a conflict continues for a while, the casualty list gets too lengthy, then one (i.e. me) is forced to move it to a subpage, then the subpage no longer recieves the regular updates it got when it was part of the main article and just sort of sits there. • Just to be perfectly clear, this isn't a criticism of your actions — you did update it on Jul. 21 (the only update the subpage has seen), so that is to your credit. I am just pointing at the general tendency behind this, which I hinted on earlier. El_C 18:17, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gaza soldiers dead

Well, 2 were killed on June 25, one by israeli accident fire (allegedly) and one in the fighthins in mid July, i checked iraeli military site, they had it, now it's gone, why? Can u find any details?

Ok, you may be correct, but I know it was on israeli site and it was taken down, they never report anybody who dies from wounds, do you have direct website for israeli casualties? i cant trust them, i am sure, e.g. after hezbollah war some of their soldiers died, many were wounded mortally, something is not right here...

[edit] Gaza casualties

Please note that the women who served themselves as human shields make themselves combatants, and hence are not civilians. I am just trying to keep an accurate track. Please fill me in. Thans. --Shamir1 01:49, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hello

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! Peace. --Nielswik(talk) 16:06, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
