Sport Luanda e Benfica, usually known as Benfica de Luanda or simply as Benfica, is a football (soccer) club from Luanda, Angola. The club is named after Sport Lisboa e Benfica, of Portugal, and shares the same colors. The logo is also very similar to the Portuguese one. The club, as of 2005, has never won the Girabola (which is the name of the Angolan league first division) or the Angolan Cup. The club is currently disputing the Girabola.

The club is nicknamed Leões de Luanda, meaning Luanda Lions (ironically, the lion is the symbol of SL Benfica's rivals, Sporting CP). The club was originally founded as Sport Luanda e Benfica, the club was later renamed to Saneamentos Rangol. In 2000, the club returned to its previous name, Sport Luanda e Benfica [1].

In 1995, as Saneamentos Rangol, the club was promoted to the following year's first division [2]. In 2003, Benfica Luanda was relegated to the second division [3]. In 2004, th club was the runner-up of the second division, and was promoted to the first division [4]. In 2005, the club finished in 6th in the first division [5].

The club plays their home matches at Estádio da Cidadela stadium, which has a maximum capacity of 60,000 people.
