Spooky DeVille
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spooky DeVille is a Salt Lake City psychobilly band formed in early 2006. Upon the release of their first E.P. entitled Six Sick, Sick Songs, Spooky DeVille forged a sound all their own. Taking elements from rockabilly, hardcore, horror punk, psychobilly, metal, surf, goth and every music genre in between.
The Ektoplasmics was the first incarnation of Spooky DeVille and included Scarecrow Odie on guitars, El Cucuy on upright bass, and Kid Gruesome on drums. After booking their first show, this lineup fell apart. Kid Gruesome moved up to guitar and brought in a former bandmate from Long Awaited Nightmare, Billy Diesel, to be the new drummer. With the already booked show only 2 weeks away, the band recruited longtime friend, Dozer Von Deadly, to be the frontman. And Spooky DeVille was born.
Having already shared the stage with the likes of: The Quakes, DieMonsterDie, Wednesday 13, Left for Dead, Atomic Deathrays, Brutally Frank, Shadow Reichenstein, The Creepshow, Sasquatch and the Sick-A-Billys, The Creeps, and The VooDoo Organist; as well as write and record the anthem for the Salt City Derby Girls roller derby league. Spooky DeVille has accomplished much in its short time and has garnered a strong cult following and is progressing as a band faster than most.
Spooky DeVille was recently asked to be on The Horror of it All Vol.3 compilation which will also feature songs by world renowned bands: Blitzkid, Impaler, DieMonsterDie, Antarctica Vs. the World, The Crimson Ghosts, Darkest Day, Calabrese, The Spectremen, The Serpenteens and 27 other horror punk, death Rock and psychobilly bands. The compilation will also be packaged with a DVD with band footage including live video of Spooky DeVille.
Spooky DeVille Will be going in to the Studio at Sonic Doom to record new songs and finish up the Breathe Transylvania full length album on August 6, 2006 and a bonus track for The Horror of it All Vol.3, which is due out by Halloween, 2006 on Dr. Cyclops Records.
