Split Crow Pub

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Split Crow Pub is a tavern in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada that dates to 1749. It was originally named the Spread Eagle, in reference to the fact that the tavern's logo was taken from a German coat of arms named the Double Eagle.

The pub became a popular destination for sailors, mariners, and travelers, who were given lodgings. It holds the dubious honor of being the home of the first murder charge in Nova Scotia, which stemmed from a fight beginning at the tavern.

Today, the Split Crow has become a well-known attraction of downtown Halifax. Featuring live bands, it is a popular weekend hangout, particularly for students of Dalhousie University.
