After a visit to the doctor's with Paige, Piper is attacked by the Spider Demon, a creature that emerges every hundred years to feed off a powerful magical being. Chris is able to shield Piper in time, but the demon slashes his neck, infecting him with her poison. Piper and Paige find a vanquishing potion but need Phoebe, who is out speed dating trying to find her future child's father. Chris, meanwhile begins to show symptoms of becoming a spider. While watching over P3, Paige is contacted by a leprechaun who has been cursed by the Wicked Witch of the West. He gives Paige his cane as thanks. At the manor, Chris lures Piper away making her vulnerable to the Spider Demon who encases her in a cocoon. When Paige and Phoebe attack, Chris defends the Demon, letting her escape. Phoebe and Paige lock Chris in the basement and when unable to free Piper, they eventually call Leo. Leo is unconcerned at Piper's state and tries to help Chris, who attacks him. Phoebe reveals Chris is Leo's son from the future. Completely turned into a spider, Chris escapes the basement and orbes Piper and himself to the Demon. Crushed by his new knowledge, not only that Chris is his son, but that Chris hates him because of it, Leo determines to be there for his family from now on. While looking for something at the magic school to help, Leo reveals to the elders that Chris is his son. Once Leo leaves, the elders reveal this was new information and they will not let Chris stop them from killing Wyatt when the time comes. Paige calls for help from the forest friends, an Ogre, a fairy, and a woodland nymph, she has saved from the Wicked Witch as she, Phoebe and Leo try to rescue Piper and Chris. When unable to catch her with the potion, the Ogre steps on the spider, squashing her and relinquishing Piper. Chris is still poisoned, however, and Leo goes to fight/save him alone. Piper drinks the Chris's antidote, thus vaccinating the unborn Chris. Once transformed back, Chris continues to attack Leo in his fury till Piper stops him. Leo and Piper decide she must stay at the Magic school until Chris is born for both her and the baby's protection. Leo promises he will be their for her sisters and Chris while she is away. Leo finds Chris sitting on the bridge and begs to know why Chris hates him so much. Chris says Leo was never there for him, even though he was there for everyone else in the world. Leo suggests Chris's time travel wasn't just to save Wyatt but to save their relationship, but Chris orbs away.

  • Spider Demon: An evil creature that emerges from its hidden lair every hundred years, to capture and feed off the most powerful and magical beings it can detect. The demon can spin webs and change from human to spider and the other way around at will. She infects her victims with a venom that turns them into spider demons as well.
  • Gideon the Elder: One of the most powerful Elders with mutilple powers including invisibility, telekenisis, molecular combustion, thought projection, etc, Gideon was entrusted with the creation of Magic School and was awarded the position as headmaster for the institution where young magical beings can learn about magic. While he originally pushed for the Elders to allow Piper and Leo to get married, once Wyatt was born, Gideon's attitude toward the couple changed drastically. He feared that all of the power that Wyatt possessed would cause him to turn evil and become an unstoppable threat. Gaining the sisters' confidence, Gideon used his position as a friend of the family to get close to Wyatt. But first, he hired a team of Darklighters to get Leo out of the way. He conspired with his evil counterpart in a parallel dimension to distract both the good and evil Charmed Ones so that he might kill Wyatt. The sisters realized his plan in time and stopped him, but only temporarily. Conspiring with Barbas, who used his powers to distract the sisters and Leo, Gideon managed to kidnap Wyatt, killing Chris in the process. Angered by his son's death, Leo tracked down Gideon in the Underworld and killed him. Unlike other Whitelighters and Elders, when Gideon orbs his orbs are purple.
  • Wicked Witch of the Enchanted Forest: A mean spirited witch who cursed various magical creatures into different forms.

  • Rathmere: A wizard of unknown age and uncertain origins. Rathmere once possessed vast magical power. He is credited with more than five hundred original spells and potions and would be a force to rival any other if not for his mysterious disappearance in 1904. All that remains as evidence of his existence are his wand and his legacy of magic. He was discovered to be consumed by the Spider-Demon.

  • The episode title is a play on words to the television series Spin City.
  • Phoebe tells Leo that Chris is his future son in this episode.
  • Chris becomes a Spider Demon in this episode; and because of Piper's being pregnant with him, he begins to die when the Spider Demon begins feasting on Piper.
  • Leo learns that Chris has issues with him in the future because he was never there for him as a father.
  • Chris discovers that Wyatt displayed powers since he was in the womb.
  • Piper begins her stay at Magic School during her pregnancy with Chris beginning with this episode.
  • The restaurant Cafe Le Blue is the same building used for the restaurant Quake, which Piper once worked at as head chef.
  • Chris tells Piper and Paige that he goes to Paige for money in the future. However, in the episode Oh My Goddess, Pt 1 Chris said that in his future, Paige died when she was turned to stone. His memories could have changed owing to the change in the timeline.
  • Chris tells Piper and Paige that he goes to Paige for money in the future. But in the series finale, we see that it is Phoebe who seems to be the one making an effcient amount of money. Her job pays "damn well," as Elise has said, and she is the author of a #1 best-selling book. Paige is only a whitelighter and wasn't shown with any form of income. Unless she gets it from Henry, Paige's future husband.
  • This the last time, we see Phoebe's Power of Empathy, used.
