[edit] Tokyo disney image

Thanks for uploading Image:Tokyodisneylogo.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use {{gfdl}} if you release it under the GFDL, or {{fairuse}} if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the image and I'll tag it for you. Thanks so much, Josh 12:16, Dec 31, 2004 (UTC)

Done. Andy 12:29, Dec 31 2004

[edit] Wikitravel

FYI, I've reverted back to your version on Wikitravel -- I think Hypatia overreacted when he removed it. By all means (and please!) add more content, but also do try to remember that not everybody thinks Disneyworld is the greatest thing since sliced bread... Jpatokal 14:02, 1 Jan 2005 (UTC)

Reading the article I completely understand what you mean - my obsession with Disney got in the way of vital information in some places. I think I may of overreacted also, with the swearing and all - ;) - but I'm glad you agree with me. Thanks!!!!

[edit] Walt's Carolwood Pacific Railroad

I am a railroad and transportation nut. As much as you enjoy all things Disney, you might want to do a little research and help write an article about Walt Disney's Carolwood Pacific Railroad. It is on my to-do list, but I haven't gotten to it (yet). Here are some links:

If you do, I would appreciate a note when the article is ready for reading. I have enjoyed your other Disney articles. Vaoverland 10:44, Jan 11, 2005 (UTC)

Of course! I would love to. I have a book on Walt Disney which has about half a chapter devoted to the Carolwood Pacific, and the websites you have given me look fantastic. Thanks for the compliment! What do you suggest as a title? Carolwood Pacific Railroad maybe?

Andy 17:03, Jan 11, 2005 (UTC)

I think Carolwood Pacific Railroad would be a very good title. The article should include Walt's friends (ie Ward Kimball) and the LA live steam group activity in Griffith Park with Walt's old barn, etc. Have some fun writing it. All Aboard!! Vaoverland 08:33, Jan 12, 2005 (UTC)

As requested, I went over your excellent new Carolwood Pacific Railroad article, and I have expanded it somewhat. I found all the information I learned about Griffith Park and the LA Live Steam Railroaders to be especially interesting. Check it out and let me know what you think. Vaoverland 09:54, Jan 13, 2005 (UTC)

I see my friend PearlWashington came up with a few good photos to add to the article. Hope you approve. Vaoverland 16:58, Jan 13, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] My Apologies

Dear Andy AKA Speedway,

I apologise for the spelling "corrections" I made. I did not realise that you reside in the United Kingdom, and I know English is spoken & written in a different dialect in the UK. I apologise for this, and I shouldn't have changed it in the first place. There is one thing that should stay corrected. Tokyo Disneyland is in Urayasu, not Urabusa. I fixed those, and I also added the DLRP president to your Disney Parks & Resorts page. You have done a great job, and I am glad there is someone who is as much a fan of Disney as I. You can contact me at evanwohrman(at)msn.com, or visit the message boards on my website (link in my user page). - DLI Evan - 13 Jan 2005 00:54 UTC

Don't apologise! I'm glad that you made the other two edits, the Tokyo edit was my fault for being too lazy to actually check it out, and I couldn't find the DLRP president anywhere. I thought I was the only one my age who was so Disney 'obsessed'! I'm so glad there's someone else. And you live near Disneyland! :O Speedway - 14 Jan 2005 16:45 (UTC)

Heh, well, actually, on my website, the message boards moderators are Disney freaks just as well, and they are all about the same age as me. I'm actually the second youngest on the 5 person team, and I'm in charge of 'em, haha. But don't worry, there are still plenty of Disney freaks out there our age. BTW, next time you visit my site's message boards, please login as a member, and not a guest, OK? Thanks! Have a Disney day! :) DLI Evan - 14 Jan 2005 02:43 (UTC)

[edit] Disneyland as fac

I think you basically already have done this, but I would suggest that you (as the person nominating it) make it clear that you are requesting the Disneyland article be pulled from the fac list. That will help with the politics of successfully getting it or another article through the fac process later. Just leave a note making it a little more clear and saying thanks for the suggestions. Vaoverland 09:24, Jan 14, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Land template and pages

I think the name should be "Disney theme park lands." I'd be happy to help out to make Disney land (not Disneyland :P) pages. If you need to contact me, you can talk to me on my site's message boards (please don't post as a guest again, though) or AIM me at Evan Lyght. Because of the time difference between California and United Kingdom, I probably won't have a chance to talk about this until tomorrow. I'll be out of school for a five-day weekend starting on Saturday, so I will be able to talk to you then. Thanks! -Evan 00:39, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)

  • Yeah, I can do all the Disneyland versions of the lands, but I don't know very much about the Magic Kingdom's Toontown Fair. I never entered that section of the park when I visited Walt Disney World this past summer. I could do the Mickey's Toontown Disneyland page though. Thanks! -Evan 18:18, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC)
    • Andy, do you have AIM? Or MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger? It'd be easier if we didn't have to keep posting these messages. But anyways, if you want some histories of lands and attractions at WDW, I recommend Widen Your World and Walt Dated World. -Evan 19:45 Feb 19 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Carl G. Fisher

Andy: Long-time no talk. I see you have been busy with Disney. I mostly watch for vandalism now I am a sysop/admin. I wrote an article about Carl G. Fisher who helped build two of the first U.S. transcontinental paved highways, the (Lincoln Highway) and Dixie Highway and helped develop Florida and Miami Beach. His childhood has parallels with Walt's but about 25 years earlier and his creativity and energy went in different directions.

This article is languishing as a FAC with no objections, but very little support. I think it is a good story which covers a lot of topics of interest to Wikipedia readers. Would you take a look at it and let me know anything you can advise to improve it? I would appreciate a support vote if you feel it deserves it. It is located at Featured_article_candidates#Carl_G._Fisher. My thanks. Mark in Richmond. Vaoverland 06:43, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your support. Vaoverland 16:23, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] MSN

Hey Andy, I hope you're enjoying your spring break... 2 weeks! Lucky! We only get one, and it's next week. Anyways, I don't really use MSN Messenger much, but I'll try to find time to sign in. I'm on AOL Instant Messenger more, so if you decide to get that, my SN is Evan Lyght. OK? Don't forget to stop by on Mouse Street Message Boards once in awhile. I still have to update your profile to DLRP Correspondent. Later! --Evanwohrman 00:54, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)

  • Hey dude, sorry I'm not online, but it's not because I'm asleep. I'm at school. I only got one week off, remember? Thank you for the compliment on DLITV #6. --Evanwohrman 01:28, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Tokyo DisneySea

Actually, the park is Tokyo DisneySea, so whoever changed it was correct. --Evanwohrman 23:02, 19 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hello...I'm the person who changed it to DisneySea on the pages. I realize that, as you say, it's hard to tell from the park logo how the capitalization works, since they use different fonts for the different parts of the word. But, if you'll check the TDR web pages, you can see that even in plain text, the 'l' in Disneyland is never capitalized, but the second 's' in DisneySea always is. That's also done on other official Disney/OLC web pages--they're pretty consistent on that. Didn't mean to step on your toes by fixing it...just was looking up that page, and it seemed to be an easy edit to take care of.

No need to apologize...glad everything's cool. Thanks for having written the Disney articles in the first place...some good stuff there! I think now I just need to sign up as a member so I can stop dealing with this anonymous/IP address stuff.  :)

[edit] Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Disney pins

Hi. I noticed you added {{Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Disney pins}} to Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/Log/2005 April 23. However, you don't seem to have created the actual vfd subpage (which should include your reason to nominate the article, presumeably Disney pins, for deletion), nor marked the offending article with {{subst:vfd}}. Full instructions are here. —Korath (Talk) 22:03, Apr 23, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries

Hi. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I just wanted to give you some helpful advice, or maybe just a reminder about a feature in Wikipedia known as an edit summary. The edit summary is filled out using the 200 word text field located right below the editing text box. It is strongly recommended that one get in the habit of filling out edit summaries for each edit, giving a general summary of why particular changes were made, as well as a very terse summary of what those changes were. Edit summaries are a way to defend your edits, especially if you're an anonymous user. Ambiguous edits made by anonymous users may often be mistaken for vandalism. Filling out the edit summary also gives the users who monitor those pages on watch lists or recent changes, an idea of what kind of activity has taken place. If these changes do not strongly affect the content of the article, mark the This is a minor edit check box below the edit summary field. For further help on using edit summaries, consult this guide. Thank you. — oo64eva (AJ) (U | T | C) @ 16:37, Apr 24, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Good afternoon

Yes, I most certainly heard of the new PeopleMover. I'm guessing you read it on MiceAge? That's where I saw it. A lot of people don't see Al Lutz as a very serious person, but I believe him. He was the one who spread word that Pooh and the Subs were coming back before anybody else. I think he's just screwed up some stories in the past and that he has shown a lot of hatred toward DCA. Anyways, I had fun on my Phoenix trip. Phoenix, Arizona is one of the cleanest cities I have ever seen. The fifth-biggest city in America, and it's amazingly clean, new, and nearly crime-free. It was beautiful. Talk to you this weekend. --Evanwohrman 00:20, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Masts

"Why the hell would anyone want to read a list of masts on an encylopedia is beyond me, but the American Towers Tower Colwich article does need to be deleted." Then take it to VfD. Please read the criteria for speedy deletion and tell me which one the article falls under. Speedy is for blatant vandalism and pure vanity. In fact, to save you the trouble of clicking, here's the list:

  1. No meaningful content or history (e.g. random characters). See patent nonsense.
It has meaningful content, it does not consist only of random characters or patent nonsense.
  2. Test pages (e.g., "Can I really create a page here?").
    Not applicable to this article.
  3. Pure vandalism (see also dealing with vandalism).
    Not applicable to this article.
  4. Reposted content that was deleted according to Wikipedia deletion policy.
    Not applicable to this article.
  5. Contributions made by a banned user after they were banned, unless the user has been unbanned. This is slightly controversial!
    Not applicable to this article.
  6. Temporarily deleting a page in order to merge page histories after a cut and paste move.
    Not applicable to this article.
  7. Any page which is requested for deletion by the original author, provided the author reasonably explains that it was created by mistake, and the page was edited only by its author.
    Not applicable to this article.

And for the article-specific criteria?

  1. Very short articles with little or no context (e.g., "He is a funny man that has created Factory and the Hacienda. And, by the way, his wife is great.")
This article contains context, it explains what it is and why it's here. It could be expanded, and maybe it should be deleted, but it does NOT fall under this criteria.
  2. Foreign language articles that already exist on another Wikimedia project, as a result of having been copied and pasted in to Wikipedia after their creation elsewhere, or as a result of having been moved via the transwiki system.
    Not applicable to this article.
  3. Any article whose contents consist only of an external link, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, or interwiki link.
    Not applicable to this article.
  4. Any article which consists only of attempts to correspond with the person or group named by its title.
    Not applicable to this article.

As you can see, the article does not apply to any of the above. If you want it deleted, take it through the Votes for Deletion process. Good day. --Golbez 19:20, May 16, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the acknowledgement. I'm not saying it shouldn't be deleted - just that it's not a speedy candidate. You may want to try it on VfD, but be warned - they've likely dealt with masts before, and there's probably precedent. However, I don't know what the precedent is. --Golbez 19:36, May 16, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Desperate Housewives/Crimes

You don't go into an article and delete an entire section that has been added and contributed to by multiple members of the community just because you've decided that you don't like it. The criminal aspect of these characters lives has been heavily scrutinized by the media and conservative groups, and I added it because I felt it was important. If you disagree, you are free to point this out on the talk page and open it up for discussion. But your complete removal of the section is unacceptable and if you continue to remove it I will consider it an act of vandalism and report it on the appropriate page. Pacian 19:37, 22 May 2005 (UTC)

Notice that when I left you comments, my tone was forthright but respectful. Yours, on the other hand, is peppered with insults and unkind sentiment - quite indicitive of your age, one might say. There is a difference between "merciless editing" and complete removal. There is also a procedure that is meant to be followed here at wikipedia, and despite how long you purport to have been an active participant, you blindly ignored the procedure. That is against the rules. If you'd like to continue exchanging user-talk messages about this, that's up to you, but try to restrict it to relevant discussion about wikipedia-related exchange and limit your name-calling. "But out of interest, can you tell me which edit I made which prompted you to advise me?"

Your comment on my talk page was left April 24th. I am very sorry I must have overlooked it, I just noticed it now, and I assure you I am not in the habit of forgetting to respond. To answer your question, I happened to noticed changes you made to The Walt Disney Company after I edited the company infobox. I looked at your contributions because I was curious as to how often you worked on the The Walt Disney Company article. It was then that I noticed your complete lack of edit summaries to many significant edits. I only leave a message on a user's talk page when I see zero edit summaries in a block of lets say 250 of the user's last contributions. I don't do it to be picky, I simply do it because I am not sure if they are aware of how helpful they can be. I see you've since made somewhat of an effort to leave them, so I thank you for that. Sorry again for being so late with my response! — oo64eva (Alex) (U | T | C) @ 10:15, May 31, 2005 (UTC)

Hi there. Noticed your many articles on Hong Kong Disneyland. However, I am wondering, where did you find the source for "Disneytown" and "Disneyland Harbour" from? I don't see anything mentioned about it on the Disneyland website (not to mention I live right next to HK Disneyland) (http://www.hongkongdisneyland.com/eng/preview/diary/hkdisneyland_fs.htmldisney) or any other source. [edit] Disneytown

Hi,

Can you please advise of your source of information on "Disneytown"? I work for Hongkong Disneyland but I've never heard about "Disneytown". I added "Disputed" flag to your article but someone keeps on reverting that and calling me a troll.

Hi, I read the information on two Disney fan sites. Like you, I have been unable to find the info anywhere else - but I only bothered to check when you first posted the Disputed flag. If you became a Wikipedia account holder, I think you would gain more credibility than an unknown user, but otherwise you are correct, and not a troll. --Speedway 19:31, July 30, 2005 (UTC)

Well, I have a hard time believing 218.102.144.123, because his first edit on Wikipedia was to revert my removal of the Disputed flag, and the person who put the disputed flag up in the first place had a previous edit where they had added "Fuck Off." to the article. --WikiFan04Talk 17:10, 30 Jul 2005 (CDT)

Hi WikiFan04, I was using a public computer when I first added the disputed flag, and I believe the 158 ip address is a large proxy server. I thought what I added in the talk page was enough to convince the wiki community that the page need to be verified. And I feel sorry about sharing the same proxy server with someone who add f-word to article.

Hi Speedway, Thank you and I appreciate your effort. I've been reading a lot of the articles your contributed and I learned a lot. --218.102.144.123 15:27, 31 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Hongkongcastle.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Hongkongcastle.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Thue | talk 17:08, 19 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Thanks for the feedback and the cleanup. As you see I am new to Wikipedia and still learning. I would however request that you not add IllumiNations or Fantasmic again. WDCE did not produce either show (in any of it's iterations). The most recent iteration of IllumiNations, Reflections of Earth was produced by Walt Disney Entertainment in Florida -- not the group tied to WDI based in Glendale. And Fantasmic at DL was produced by DL Entertainment and the FL version by WDE.

Thanks

[edit] Creative Ent Revisions

Yes, that is correct, that IllumiNations, Fantasmic, and virtually any product which debuted prior to WDCE being created in 2001 was created by the property in which it resides. --MKC 18:07, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Clean ups

Added a couple more shows DCE has produced. Note: removed Tarzan and Festival of LK from the list as those were produced by WDE Florida - prior to DCE existence. Note also that DCE is only charged with large scale shows/parades, and did not REPLACE the in-house creative teams at the parks. -- MKC65

I have been to Orlando three times in the past (most recently June 2004). It feels like ages ago since I went. Just wondering what you do when you go there. [edit] Hong Kong Disneyland Resort article

Hello,

I apologize if this is not the best way to leave a message for you, but I felt that it was necessary to ask you to make a correction. In the article regarding the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, you deleted an entire section on how a second theme park may be built on Lantau Island. Not just that, but you also added an extremely rude and disparaging comment about how "you know, and I know, what you wrote is trash."

Now, I'm not sure who wrote the information about the potential second park in the first place, but that user was absolutely correct in writing this information. Perhaps you may have missed the news the day after Hong Kong Disneyland opened when Disney Chairman George Mitchell announced that the Walt Disney Company does indeed have plans to build a second theme park at the resort (http://www.thestandard.com.hk/news_detail.asp?pp_cat=12&art_id=1287&sid=4544172&con_type=1). A secretary from the Hong Kong government even commented in the news story, saying the resort could begin construction in 2010. However, you deleted the entire segment about a potential second park at the resort, saying that this information was "trash."

Was it really necessary to delete a factually correct segment in the Wikipedia article, and on top of that write such a nasty note? From reading the comments made by other people about you, it appears this is not the first time you have done something like this. I would encourage you to please do research before making changes on Wikipedia pages and please be civil when describing edits. There is no need for nastiness on Wikipedia when everyone is trying to work together to provide factual information.

Thank you, and good day.

[edit] Image copyright tags and sources

Thank you so much for contributing to Wikipedia, especially on Disney-related topics; your edits are many and of high quality. As a follow-up to Thue, I did notice that many of the images you have uploaded however either do not specify the source and/or the copyright status (maybe you took them yourself?). Here is an incomplete list of images to be reviewed:

Image:Hongkongcastle.jpg Image:Goldenmickeys.jpg Image:Disneysamerica.gif Image:Totdac.jpg Image:Spacemountainparis.jpg Image:Junglecruise.jpg Image:Fantasmicwdw.jpg Image:Columbia.jpg Image:DisneyVillage.jpg Image:CinderellaCastleGolden.jpg Image:Lib shop xmas.jpg Image:SpaceMountainParis.jpg Image:BatbBroadwayLogo.jpg Image:Wishesparis.jpg Image:Royoliverdisney.jpg Image:Alweiss.jpg Image:Phantommanorparis.jpg Image:Mainstreetparis.jpg Image:Mainstreetflorida.jpg Image:DisneylandHotelParis.gif Image:Sleeping50th.jpg Image:Harrods at night.jpg Image:Elektradaredevil.jpg Image:Tokyocinderella.jpg Image:Sleepingbeautycastle.jpg Image:Diswedpav.jpg Image:CinderellaCastle2005.jpg Image:HollywoodHills.jpg Image:SleepingBeautyCastle50th.jpg

'Please go over these and others you have uploaded specifying a source from whence you obtained them and their copyright status . If no source can be determined or they are found to be copyright violations we may need to delete them. Thank you. -- Rmrfstar 10:24, 7 November 2005 (UTC)

Thank you very much. -- Rmrfstar 03:05, 8 November 2005 (UTC)
Look two comments up. The images you've recently uploaded (Image:HKDL tomorrowland concept.jpg etc.) do not specify a source so you may not claim fair use. From what "presskit" did you get the image?

Also, if you could specify such things for the pictures previously mentioned, we could save them, too, as fair use. -- Rmrfstar 17:36, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image work?

What happened to fixing the copyright tags of and adding sources to the above images? -- Rmrfstar 20:42, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

What did you do? I still see either no copyright tag or no justification for a given copyright tag on the images listed there. -- Rmrfstar 02:20, 15 December 2005 (UTC)
Every single image listed there (and more) needs to have a source for the image listed and a valid copyright tag with rational. For instance, Image:Hongkongcastle.jpg just states that it is copyrighted. More information is necessary if it is to be kept on Wikipedia. The image should have a specific source listed, (ex. disney.com), a proper copyright tag (ex. {{gfdl}}) and an explanation of how such a copyright is assumed (ex. "All disney.com images are GFDL"). Thanks again. -- Rmrfstar 00:21, 16 December 2005 (UTC)
I must insist that you fix the address the problems that I have mentioned ASAP, else I will be forced to delete a lot of work of yours. Thanks. -- Rmrfstar 22:26, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
Why do you continue to upload images without specifying the source? Yes, now you are tagging them as having come from a presskit or something similar, but we need to know exactly, if you are to claim fair-use. Also, can the images I listed above (and was listing for speedy deletion) be tagged the same way? Say what the sources were. -- Rmrfstar 11:08, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Please respond! -- Rmrfstar 02:59, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WD Creative Entertainment

Need to be sure you don't keep re-adding projects/shows that Creative Entertainment did not produce. I just removed many. I produced several of the shows that you added and I do not work (nor have worked) for this group.

[edit] Walt Disney World International Program

Hi Speedway, I've recently completed a full rewrite of the Walt Disney World International College Program article and it's now up for Peer Review. I'd appreciate any comments you have as I'm trying to get it FAC status. Thanks! KC. 17:02, 19 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Disney park template colours

I looked for a Red for Hong Kong. Tell me what you think.

Would the template work for the Magic & Wonder? If it does, go for it! If not, then no? LordBleen 03:12, 31 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Wishesflorida.jpg

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Wishesflorida.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairusein|article name}} or {{fairuse}}. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Romeo Bravo 03:11, 3 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] sources for presskits

I'm only going to ask so many times: do you have sources for the images you've recently uploaded and tagged? Image:Alweiss.jpg, Image:Royoliverdisney.jpg and more. I know you don't want to go through old work, but I don't want to delete all of these images if they may be used... once a source is provided. -- Rmrfstar 07:01, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fantasmic

Certainly understand and respect the "non-abbreviating" -- and will do my best to avoid that in the future. You have changed back to naming all three parties as producers a couple times, anmd I have reverted several times. Please respect that there are multiple entertainment entities within TWDC and the makeup and relationship of them has changed significantly over the years and will continue to evolve. It is important, as this is an encyclopedia, that the historical relationships be maintained and documented, and not all credits be attributed to the current organization. Just as Michael Eisner wouldn't take credit for making Peter Pan or Cinderella....--MKC 00:23, 18 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Sleepingbeautycastle.jpg

Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Sleepingbeautycastle.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL-self}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Misc Disney Page?

As you've spent some time with the Disney pages, I thought I'd ask you: what's your opinion of this page: List of attractions at the Walt Disney World Resort vs List of current Magic Kingdom attractions? I believe the former is poorly organized and lacks current information, aside from the fact that it would be yet another "list" page to update and maintain vs the latter, having pages for current/past "attractions" specifically for each park (which makes infinite more sense). Your thoughts? SpikeJones 21:07, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

because I deem both pages as unnecessary in an encyclopedia. Fair comment; but I look at it as a way to consolidate information by removing the same info from the park pages themselves. To include info on both current and past rides in a mish-mosh of information on the main park page can be rough to read, use, and edit... especially as those pages get longer and longer. Ideally, the information would appear once, with links to specific ride pages as needed. I do agree with you about making sure WK doesn't become a comprehensive fan site. [edit] Image tagging for Image:Fantasyintheskywdw.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Fantasyintheskywdw.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] Help fight systematic bias

Dear Speedway,

I would like to draw your attention to the discussion currently ongoing at Talk:Popsicle. If you are interested in helping to counter systematic bias towards North America, and instead establish Wikipedia as an international website, then please feel welcome to contribute with your opinions. Thank you. EuroSong talk 13:53, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] link to 3D

Hello, when you want to link to the article about something 3D, please do not link to 3D, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as 3D computer graphics by writing out [[3D computer graphics|3D]] Regards, -- Jeff3000 22:02, 10 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Looking for Interviewees

Hello,

I am a freelance writer working on an article about the subculture of people who use Wikipedia the way the rest of us use MySpace. So I’m looking to interview several Wikipedia “addicts” as well as people who, while they don’t consider themselves addicted, do spend a good amount of time on the site editing articles, patrolling for errors, seeking out false articles, fighting for changes they made to be kept in, and otherwise contributing to the site. If you are interested please email me at brianrhodges@gmail.com.

This offer is open to anybody else reading this, not just this particular user. But please, don’t come to me with if you’re hoping I’ll be exposing conspiracies or censorship issues amongst the wikipedia higher-ups. That’s not really what this article is about.

Thanks,
