User:Spellmaster

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This username is an alternate account of User:Guinnog.

I use this account when editing with AWB.

I would like to thank User:Cyde for suggesting the idea of a separate account for such edits.

This user account is used primarily to make spelling corrections, although I do always make any other formatting or tagging edits I see fit as I go through an article.

For my reasoning in a couple which have raised eyebrows in the past:

  1. Honorary (instead of "honourary"): although it looks like a US/UK issue (cf color/colour), in fact the first spelling without the 'u' is regarded as correct throughout the world. See [1], and also Wikipedia:Lists of common misspellings/H.
  2. Humorous (instead of "humourous"): this seems to elicit the same sort of reaction sometimes, but again the first form is considered right worldwide; see [2], [3], [4], [5].
  3. Cork! See Image:Awbtrawlofcorkdone.jpg and Talk:Cork (city).

Of course, if I ever make an edit that you disagree with, just message me at either talk page and I will try to put it right.
