[edit] History of Cardiff
Cardiff was built over two thousand years ago when the Romans came to visit. They built a fortified settlement on the river Taff. A thousand years later William the conqueror invaded and built a castle that is still here today. A few hundred years on it remained a small market town. Industrial possibilities came along when iron and coal was found so they could make more steel. It grew and grew throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. It has slowed down now to population growth control.
