Special Areas Board, Alberta

The Special Areas Board is the governing body of Alberta's Special Areas. Special Areas are designated districts of county or municipal district level, that are governed by appointed councils, under the direct authority of Alberta Municipal Affairs.

Three Special Areas are established in Alberta, all located in the south-east of the province, in Census Division 4.
