This template is only for talk pages with repeated spamming, nonsense, etc. Often these pages will have nonsense titles such as Talk:Skateboarding/ or Talk:Talk/w/index.php; in these cases there is no reason for any legitimate comment to be made on these pages. However, if the talk page belongs to an existing article, it is the place for comments about the article.

Do not place it on every deleted talk page that has been targeted by spambots, only on often re-created ones!

Please full-protect talk pages with this template that have nonsense titles or do not belong to any article; otherwise semi-protection will be sufficient since the pages are created by IP addresses.

The page on which this template is placed is automatically categorised into Category:Protected against spambots. If the accompanying article exists, the page will also be added into Category:Temporarily protected talk pages.

This template is a self-reference and so is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopaedic content.
