SPANC: Space Pirate Amazon Ninja Catgirls is a card game created by Fade Manley, illustrated by Phil Foglio, and published by Steve Jackson Games.
[edit] Gameplay
The goal in SPANC is to guide your crew of space pirates to victory against the other players crews. Each player has cards that represent either a crew member, or toys (a set of cute ninja stars, hiking boots, or a collar with a bell) that can improve a crew members abilities. The all female crew members are ranked in four abilities: Space Pirate, Amazon, Ninja, and Catgirl.
Capers are a set of four challenges. A series of challenge cards are laid out and turned over one at a time. Each challenge (such as garden maze, an honorable hero, or a treasure vault) is marked with which ability it challenges, requiring to player to roll the skill number or lower of the crew member that is attempting the challenge. Challenges can pay out toys or loot, and if passed allow the crew member to attempt the next challenge. At the end of each series of challenges (known as a caper) a player wins if they have more than ten loot tokens, or the player with more loot if more than one player has more than ten. If there is a tie, or no one has sufficient loot, a new caper is attempted by the crews.
The game requires only, the provided deck of cards, 2 to 4 players, two dice, and tokens to represent the loot (cardboard tokens are provided in the box).
