Category talk:Spanish loanwords

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

¿Do words which have changed their spelling qualify for this category? I have plenty. HOOSEGOW from Juzgado (courtroom) STEVEDORE from Estibar (load cargo) SAVVY from ¿Sabe? (¿Do you know?) SIESTA I have not looked this one up but believe is from SEXTA HORA (Sixth hours (A six hour nap does not seem possible)

[edit] Unencyclopaedic

This is a dictionary category, not an encyclopaedia category. Wiktionary already has a category for words derived from the Spanish language (Category:Spanish derivations), and has had for many months now. Please direct your efforts there, instead. Uncle G 07:34, 1 January 2006 (UTC)
