[edit] Numbers and italics for names?

Are there meanings to the numbers and the italics added associated with some of the names?
--3Idiot 00:00, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

I think I discovered by comparison to STS-116 that the numbers are supposed to indicate number of spaceflights. Seems to me, that's information best left to the individual's article or else we're setting up for a maintenance nightmare each time someone makes a repeat visit to space.
Probably best discussed on the project page so as not to repeat it on each mission page.
(I'm still in search of an explanation for the italics.)

[edit] Flags

  • Are the flags really useful ?Hektor 20:54, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't know. They're kind of neat to look at, but I'm not sure how much they add that the name of the country doesn't. I'm officially indifferent.

[edit] New crew list

  • I think that the new way to present the crew adds useless complication. Hektor 14:29, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

I agree. It hurts to try to read.
There's no doubt that these (realtively) new tricks of swapping crew members mid-mission adds complexity to recording "crew" for a flight...but that new presentation makes it seem even more complicated than it really is.
I started to revert it as soon as I saw it, but thought I'd let it stand for a bit for discussion since there's no consensus (as far as I know) on how to present crew. Let's discuss here.

[edit] MIssion Logo

I've managed to find a mission logo in JPEG format, but I jave no way to convert to GIF. If anyone feels like adding it, it's at Soyuz_TMA-9_Logo.jpg‎
