Southwest Parkway
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Southwest Parkway is a toll road planned to be operated by the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) connecting the Central Business District of the city of Fort Worth at Interstate 30 to FM 1187 in Cleburne.
The project is proposed to be constructed as a 15-mile, controlled-access, four- to six-lane divided toll road along the route of an extension of State Highway 121. This portion of State Highway 121 will connect with the Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) 14-mile project from FM 1187 to U.S. 67 in Cleburne. Environmental clearance for the project was received in June 2005. Southwest Parkway is tentatively scheduled to be open to traffic in late 2010. The NTTA's consulting engineers have estimated that the cost of Southwest Parkway will be approximately $825 million.
The first 8.2 miles of the Parkway, from Interstate 30 to Altamesa Road, are in the final design stages.
