Southern hardcore

Southern Hardcore is a musical genre blending elements of new hardcore music with southern rock and straight up rock and roll. Bands of this genre's music usually consists of dirty, riff laden guitar that is distorted with many bends and squeals, the bass generally follows the trail the guitarist paves for them, the drumming is very cymbal heavy with plenty of double kicking and very 'fat' beats and the vocals can range from raspy screaming/shouting to clean singing to very low screams. The music itself consists of rock and roll riffs and very heavy breakdowns.
