South Park's second season aired from mid 1998 until the start of 1999. The series started mere weeks after season one due to the fact that the conclusion of who Cartman's dad was to be aired quite soon after. Instead of showing the conclusion the episode Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus was aired which featured only Terrance and Phillip whom the boys are huge fans of. Due to many complaints about who Cartman's dad was Trey Parker and Matt Stone were forced to show the conclusion.
This season is also notable of having the most episodes ever in one season. It had a total of 18 episodes. The regular ammount of episodes per series as of 2004 is 14.
This season also sparked controversy over Chef's Chocolate Salty Balls. An episode which was about a film festival in South Park. The name refers to Chef's chocolate candy which he made but also reffered to Chef's genitials.
This season also had the episode Spookyfish which was the only ever episode presented in "Spooky Vision". Spooky Vision uses Barbara Streisand's face over every frame of animation.
