South Carolina Technical College System

The South Carolina Technical College System is a statewide network of 16 technical colleges in South Carolina. The system is run by the SC State Board for Technical and Comprehensive Education, whose purpose is to implement post-secondary vocational training and education to develop the state's workforce and thereby support its economy. Statewide enrollment in 2004 exceeded 237,000 students. The system, which employs around 7,000 workers, receives $129 million in state funding, but is also dependent on charitable donations.
