The fourth edition of the South American Championship was held in Valparaíso, Chile from September 11 to October 3, 1920. However, the Sporting Club had its stadium located at Viña del Mar, hence the location of the disputed matches.

This tournament is called Copa América since 1975.

The participating countries were Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay.
