South African Indian Congress

The South African Indian Congress was an organization founded in 1923 in Natal (now KwaZulu-Natal), South Africa. The congress is famous for it's strong participation by Mahatma Ghandi and other prominent South African Indian figures during the time. Umar Hajee Ahmed Jhaveri was elected to become the first president South African Indian Congress.
