Soup night
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Soup night is an informal gathering of friends, neighbors, and soup aficionados. Known Soup Nights have been held in Atlanta, Georgia, Evanston, Illinois, and San Diego, California, though others have likely been held elsewhere.
[edit] Conventions
Soup Night requires at least one cook, one host, and one volunteer for cleanup duties. One and the same person could hold all three roles, but this is unlikely. Often the cook or cooks will prepare two soups, and the host will extend invitations to any number of guests. Guests are expected to bring accompaniments such as bread, wine, beer, cheese, or desserts. Variety and novelty in soups are esteemed, but of course bare tastiness is welcomed in any form.
