Souls at Zero is the third album from the Oakland, CA. band Neurosis and their first for the Alternative Tentacles label. It was later reissued with bonus tracks on the band's own Neurot Recordings label. Unlike their previous efforts, this album showcases the band's penchant for playing densely layered, folk-influenced music at radically slower tempos. While this album likely alienated a large portion of their early fan base, it has become an important landmark for newer Neurosis fans.
