SorceryNet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
SorceryNet is a popular and fairly well-known IRC network that is home to hundreds of role-playing channels. It was formed in late 1996 as an offshoot of DALnet with the goal of offering "a stable network and helpful staff to make chatting as easy as possible with as little interruption as possible" [1] and an evenly oligarchic administration policy.
Due to the friendly nature of the server and the well-implemented services, many channels unrelated to role-playing have also based themselves in SorceryNet. According to SearchIRC, SorceryNet is the 30th-largest IRC network. [2]
On October 23, 2004, kechara, one of SorceryNet's largest servers, delinked from the network. However, no adverse effects seem to have resulted.
