[edit] Ratings
SOP Gigsters was a top-rated show pitted against ABS-CBN's ASAP Fanatic, a variety show with the same format, until the Kapamilya network moved its drama anthology Your Song to its timeslot. "Your Song" was able to gain respectable ratings against SOP Gigsters for a number of weeks, often beating its rival show for most of the time.
[edit] Cancellation
With nothing more to prove as far as ratings is concerned, the GMA management decided to cancel "SOP Gigsters" in October 2006 and replaced it with "Kapuso Movie Festival". Hosts Richard and Raymond Gutierrez were absorbed in "SOP"'s roster of co-hosts while the other members of "Gigsters" such as Mark Herras, Ryza Cenon, Mike Tan, Marky Cielo and Dion Ignacio were able to secure prime spots in "SOP" as featured performers.
