Hi, my name is Wim. Currently I'm a student in Political Sciences at the Catholic University of Leuven or KUL and I'm in my second bachelor year. I live in Genk, a small city in eastern Flanders and I have been living there for 13 years.

My main reason for finally deciding to join Wikipedia was the ability to give users some kind of feedback on my talkpage about small changes I sometimes make, thus on May 18, 2006 I registered at Wikipedia and will be looking forward to make some useful contributions wherever I think they are needed, but as stated before, I'm open to constructive suggestions.

Personally, I'll be more active on articles about politics, Limburg, Flanders and perhaps some sports articles as well. As a political science student, I'm especially interested in Transatlantic relations, the effects of resources on the global economy, military history and the upcoming economic challenges we, as the west as a whole, will face in the near future.

The first and only article so far that I have started, 2006 European heat wave, had made it to the Wikipedia main page in the "In the news" section on July 28, 2006. That's a nice way to start I'd say :)
