[edit] Deletion?

Why do people keep wanting to delete this page? Shouldn't it be allowed to stay here? Sonny has the right to have a small biography about him. I think that this page at least has some interesting information in it about him. MusicGirl21 22:27, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

I know yeah, who is this guy that keeps replacing it with a redirect to From First to Last? It's a perfectly decent bio. --Gpmuscillo 20:50, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

If you go to the "merge" section of this page, the first signed in person is the guy who keeps wanting to delete it. MusicGirl21 22:03, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Picture

[edit] ==Article==

Sonny Moore (born January 15, 1988, in Los Angeles, California, USA.) is the vocalist and frontman for the band From First to Last, along with guitarists Matt Good and Travis Richter, and drummer Derek Bloom.

Moore was born in the city of Los Angeles, but moved to San Francisco when he was two years of age. He returned to Los Angeles when he was 12 years old, and formed his first band, At Risk, in which he also did vocals and rhythm guitar. He met Matt Good on the internet through Myspace and flew out to Valdosta, Georgia, USA, approximately two weeks after his 16th birthday, where From First to Last were recording. Sonny joined the band three days later. Originally Sonny was to be the band's guitarist but was asked to be the vocalist after the band heard him singing 'Featuring Some Of Your Favorite Words' in the vocal booth.

Shortly before becoming a member of the band, Moore discovered that he was adopted. This major event in his life has gone on to influence parts of his music as heard in the title track and the song "Afterbirth" on the bands album, Heroine.. Moore is now however, on good terms with his adoptive parents Scott and Francis Moore. His father works as an insurance claims agent and his mother is a housewife.

[edit] Trivia

  • Rumors were spread across the internet that Sonny had died due to an overdose. Such rumors were proved to be false as Moore himself went to MTV speak on the matter. [1]
  • He has the word 'Skrillex' tattooed on the inside of his bottom lip.
  • He taught himself to play guitar when he received his first one at the age of nine.
  • Sonny and FFTL left the Warped Tour 2006 due to Sonny's throat surgery.
  • He stands at a height of 5 feet 4 inches.
  • He has two brothers, Justin and Mike; and one sister, Cassy
  • FFTL is currently friends with the band The Used and Fall Out Boy
  • Highschool dropout
  • Attended La Canada High School -(ahh really? i know someone that went there.)

[edit] Just wanted to say...

good job to those who put this page up.

[edit] New Picture

I just put up a new picture of Sonny, and an Infobox. Coocooforcocopuffs 02:38, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category

I started this page! I am very happy. Well anyways I just put up a new picture of Sonny and it's a good one and an infobox to. The page is pretty good now, but it needs to be categorized. I tried doing it but I found it confusing. So if anyone knows how to do it, categorize it and the page should be good. Coocooforcocopuffs 02:38, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Citing

We have to cite the refrences, whoever put them there. Coocooforcocopuffs 01:49, 7 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

I do not think the articles should be merged, because Billy Joe Armstrong from Green Day has is own page, and it's the same thing with this.

Billy Joe is a figure in himself - if Sonny Moore walked down the street in an average town, it's unlikely he'd need a bodyguard. He isn't famous for anything except the band - and isn't a celebrity in his own right. HawkerTyphoon 11:25, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
True, but Every Time I Die, an even less known band has a page for the lead singer, Keith Buckley, and Sonny Moore would definitley be recognized by more people.

Sonny has worked hard to be in a band though, just like any other celebrity. For example - Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day wouldn't be famous if he wasn't in the band. He would just be another person, and yet, he still has his own userpage.

  • Sure Green Day has been around longer than From First To Last has, but it still is a band and Sonny still is the singer. MusicGirl21 22:15, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

I agree that there probably is no point to this article. theres not much info, and he's not very well known. but i think that once the band releases an album off their new major label, all the band members should get pages. but until then, this page should be deleted.

Right. Let's sort some points out:
  1. Just because person A has an article, it doesn't create a precedent for anyone else to have an article. If person A doesn't warrant an article, then delete the article on person A - don't create one just as poorly written and unverifiable on person B.
  2. Working hard isn't a criteria. I have worked hard (most likely harder) to get into Dartmouth Naval College, it doesn't mean that I deserve an article.
  3. Billi Joe Armstrong is main songwriter, lead vocalist, and guitarist for the multiplatinum-selling rock band Green Day. he has influenced hundreds, possibly thousands of other bands, and helped carve out a generation of music. Sonny Moore hasn't done anything of the sort - he is a singer for a mediocre band, not a singer, lead guitarist, and multi-platinum selling songwriter for a band that have made musical history. Let's not also forget that His side projects - including bands that he produces for - are equally as successful as From First to Last. HawkerTyphoon 16:28, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

U do make a point with the Billie Joe thing but i disagree with u completly. Billie is 30 some years old while Sonny is only 18, therefor Billie has had his whole life to be where he is today. Sure he has influenced hundreds, but so can Sonny if he has a chance, again he is only 18 -emo girl101-

This is ridiculous, how is there any question that this needs to be merged? He's not a 'widely recognized entertainment personality', which is the only possible notability criterion he could meet. He's a singer in a band that is quite well-known among a particular music scene, and nothing more. Nova Prime 17:21, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
Unless someone comes up with a good reason to keep this, it'll be merged 24 hours from now. HawkerTyphoon 21:00, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
y do u feel the need to go around trying to delete pages r u so bored w/ ur life that u have resorted to this. Well u need to find a new hobby. If it is deleted we will just put it back up. Emo girl101
I have a hobby thanks, and a job, too. If the page is merged, and then continually recreated, it can happily be protected from editing to prevent it being recreated. Wikipedia isn't a democracy, or an experiment in anarchy - the rest of us jsut don't think he's important enough to have his own page - and we're the people you need to convince using reasoned arguements! HawkerTyphoon 00:42, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Nice to no u have a hobby, and im just wondering who is we, i mean u only have like 2-3 people that agree with u.Emo girl101

Ok whoever wants to merge it what is the main reason to merge the articles, because if you have a terrible reason you shouldnt merge them, and also is there anything to do to add to the article or change to make the article be kept? Coocooforcocopuffs 01:46, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I just dont get y he wants to merge it, his reason are that Sonny isnt notable enough to have is own page. Thats just his opinion, I think that if he doesnt like the page then he should just not look at it. I mean no1 is asking him to look at it. He should just leave it alone alreadyEmo girl101

The main reason to merge it as that although his band is notable, he is not. Period. He does not meet the notability requirements at all. It's not about opinion, it's not about what he 'deserves' and it's not about making personal attacks. Ooh, and I just noticed it's already been redirected. Now, do not revert it until Sonny starts a new major label, chart-topping band and/or cures AIDS. Thank you. Nova Prime 13:37, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
Nova Prime puts it a little bluntly, but he's right. This page has been recreated before, and re-deleted, because he just doesn't meet the guidelines required. Leave it a while, or try and improve the main page on From First to Last. HawkerTyphoon 17:43, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

screw you guys. if billie joe armstrong can have his own page. i should have my own page. ehhh brak the ice please?
