Sony Ericsson Z1010
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sony Ericsson Z1010 was the first 3G mobile phone developed by Sony Ericsson, and released in 2003.
It was among the 1st range of phones sold by 3 in Australia. It has since been phased out and replaced with newer phones.
The Z1010 has little on-board memory (4MB) but comes with a 32MB MemoryStick Duo card and supports GSM 900/1800 in addition to 3G.
[edit] Criticisms
- The cover for the USB plug on the Z1010 does not stay in after the USB connection function has been used occasionally.
- The Z1010's operating system is unstable and poorly designed, it seems that Sony have just used an older models OS and added new features, this is apparent because some of the menu options have Icons and some of the new features (like videocalls) have no icons in their menus.
- The buttons loose their paint after a year of use.
- The device can heat up after running an intensive task for a long time (mobileTV).
- The strap that comes with the device can get in the way of photos taken with the device, the user must wrap the strap around the device to prevent this from happening.
- Games and applications can only be run from internal memory. This allows for little available memory to store any games.
