The Sony Ericsson W850i is a 3G-enabled, slide-open Walkman Phone. It features a two mega-pixel camera, the Walkman 2.0 media player, a 2" TFT screen, Memory Stick PRO Duo™ support, 16MB onboard memory, a second camera for video calling and "light effects" - a series of timed LED lights that will light up in time to music being played. A 1GB Memory Stick Duo is included.

The W850i is not sold through any US cellular carrier, although T-Mobile UK does sell them. It can be purchased unlocked and used through any US GSM carrier.

The W850i is a high-end mobile phone, on par with Sony Ericsson's other flagship model - the K800i. However, there are differences - the W850i is more heavily designed for media users whilst the K800i has a much higher-specification camera.
