Sonoco Products Company (NYSE: SON) is a major producer of different types of commercial and consumer product packaging. The company is based in Hartsville, South Carolina, U.S.A. It is also the United States' third largest paper producer. The company has approximately 17,600 employees in over 30 different countries, and was founded in 1899. It was formerly known as Southern Novelty Company.
