Sonic Liberation Front

Sonic Liberation Front is a band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania lead by Kevin Diehl and Chuckie Joseph. The group combines free jazz with Afro-Cuban percussion, modern electronics, and Lukumi/Yoruban folk idioms. In 2000, the band released its debut album, Water and Stone, on the Eye Dog label. The group now records for the High Two imprint. In 2004, the band released AshÄ— A Go-Go featuring Latin jazz icon Andy Gonzalez of the Fort Apache Band. Change Over Time followed in 2006. Sonic Liberation Front also features Dan Scofield and Matt Engle of the jazz quartet Shot by Shot.
